Shue-Medill Middle School (SMMS) has been named an AVID National Demonstration School, joining an elite group of campuses across the country that exemplify excellence in college and career readiness. This prestigious designation recognizes SMMS as a center of educational leadership and equity, where AVID strategies are not only implemented, they are lived.
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nationally recognized system that helps schools shift to a student-centered approach. Demonstration Schools serve as living models of the AVID College and Career Readiness System, showcasing what’s possible when every student is given the opportunity and support to thrive.
